Unlike bracelet sizes, bangles cannot be measured in standard inches because most bangles do not open and so have to be slipped over the hand. Consequently, the diameter of the bangle is required as two people may have the same wrist size, yet differences in the size of their hands differentiate their bangle sizes.
The table below illustrates the relationship between the standard diameters of certain sizes of bangle, with the correlated inner circumference. As regards bangle measures, the diameters are given as two full inches and a fraction of an inch. The fraction is normally given as parts of sixteen sections. The example ‘2-4/16th inch’ therefore means that the bangles diameter is two full inches and four sections out of sixteen sections of an inch.
Please note that the diameter and circumference are both given in inches.
